Six-Month Flagship Programme

Most parents already know more about how they want to parent than they're able to access when it matters.

Capacity Lab closes the gap between knowing better and being able to do better.

Awareness helps you see what's driving you.
Capacity gives you the ability to choose what happens next.

You don't need more information. You need greater access to what you already know.

You know better. So why can't you do better?

You know you don't want to yell.

You know connection matters.

You understand the importance of repair.

You may have read the books, listened to the podcasts, followed the parenting accounts, learned the scripts, gone to therapy and worked hard on yourself.

And then your child pushes the exact right button on the exact wrong day.

You're tired, overwhelmed or under pressure, and suddenly everything you know becomes unavailable.

The yelling, controlling, rescuing, fixing or shutting down takes over.

And afterwards, you think:

Why am I still doing this when I know better?

The problem isn't necessarily that you don't know enough.

The problem is that, when your system moves into survival, you can't always access what you know.

That is the gap Capacity Lab is designed to close.

Information alone doesn't create access under pressure.

Capacity Lab includes new awareness, learning and practical tools.

But information alone does not create change.

You can understand exactly how you want to respond and still find yourself repeating the reactions and patterns you promised yourself you would change.

Because knowing what to do and having access to it when you are triggered, exhausted or overwhelmed are not the same thing.

Capacity Lab works beneath the parenting behaviour to help you understand what is driving it, and develop another option.

Awareness helps you see what's driving you.
Capacity gives you the ability to choose what happens next.

Awareness matters. It helps you recognise your patterns, understand where they came from and see what is happening beneath your reactions.

But awareness alone does not always give you the ability to respond differently in the moment.

Capacity is what makes another response available.

What is Capacity Lab?

Capacity Lab is the six-month flagship programme built on the Resourced Parenting Method™.

It helps you understand what is driving your reactions, develop greater internal capacity, and access more awareness, choice and resilience when parenting gets hard.

This is not a parenting-tips course.

It is not a collection of scripts designed to make your child comply.

And it is not simply nervous-system education.

Capacity Lab is a six-month transformational experience that helps you embody what you know and practise a different way of responding in the messy, middle of real life.

It is for parents who don't simply want to know better. They want the capacity to do better when it matters.

The lab is not the Zoom call.
Real life is the lab.

The Tuesday morning meltdown is the lab.

The school holidays are the lab.

The moment you want to rescue is the lab.

The argument with your teenager is the lab.

Being around your own family at Christmas is the lab.

Christmas is the lab.

Capacity Lab is where you learn, experiment, notice, practise, repair and recalibrate in the middle of your actual life.

You don't wait for life to become calm before you begin developing capacity.

You build it in the moments when you need it.

Parenting is the first human capacity lab.

What you will develop.

Across the six months, you will develop:

  1. A deeper understanding of survival states and what happens within you under pressure
  2. Greater awareness of inherited patterns, beliefs and conditioning
  3. A stronger connection with yourself
  4. The ability to recognise what is driving a reaction
  5. Greater capacity to interrupt automatic responses
  6. More ability to pause and choose what happens next
  7. The capacity to stay with discomfort without immediately rescuing, fixing, controlling or running away
  8. Stronger internal boundaries
  9. Greater responsibility without shame
  10. The ability to recognise, own and repair ruptures
  11. Embodied change rather than intellectual understanding alone
  12. More access to connection, clarity, resilience, leadership, possibility and play

The shift.

Less

  • Reactivity
  • Rescuing
  • Control
  • Guilt
  • Self-abandonment
  • Automatic survival responses

More

  • Choice
  • Connection
  • Clarity
  • Resilience
  • Repair
  • Responsibility
  • Leadership
  • Possibility
  • Play

The promise is not that you will never lose your shit again.

The shift is that you increasingly have another option available.

And when you do get it wrong, you are more able to recognise what happened, take responsibility without collapsing into shame, and repair.

Parent differently, not perfectly.
Repair over perfection.

Capacity Lab is for you if…

  • You already know a lot about parenting and how you want to parent, but struggle to access it when you are under pressure
  • You are willing to look at what is happening within you rather than focusing solely on fixing your child
  • You recognise that your reactions may be connected to inherited patterns, conditioning and past experiences
  • You are ready to practise, experiment and take responsibility
  • You want depth rather than another list of parenting hacks
  • You want to create meaningful change in your parenting, your relationships and yourself
  • You are ready to commit to a six-month transformational process

Capacity Lab is not for you if…

  • You are only looking for behaviour-management strategies
  • You want scripts that will make your child comply
  • You believe your child (or your partner) is the only person who needs to change
  • You are looking for a quick fix
  • You want a promise of perfect parenting
  • You are unwilling to examine your own patterns and take responsibility for what you bring into the relationship

Your kid isn't the problem. What's driving you is.

Resourced Parenting Method™ is the methodology.
Capacity Lab is the flagship programme built on it.

The Resourced Parenting Method™ addresses the hidden drivers beneath parenting behaviour and develops the internal capacity required to turn awareness into something you can access and live.

It is built around responsibility without shame, repair over perfection, and the understanding that meaningful change begins with recognising what is driving us.

Why I created Capacity Lab.

I didn't create this work because I had parenting figured out.

I created it because I had a lot of awareness, and still couldn't always access what I knew when it mattered.

After experiencing severe postnatal depression, I became what I have often described as the "shouty mum." I could see the parent I wanted to be, but that didn't mean I had the internal capacity to be her when I was exhausted, overwhelmed or triggered. Which was often!

Through years of personal work, professional experience and supporting other parents, I kept seeing the same gap.

People could understand their patterns.

They could know where those patterns came from.

They could know exactly how they wanted to respond.

But awareness did not automatically give them access to a different response under pressure.

The Resourced Parenting Method™ evolved from that recognition.

Capacity Lab is where we put it into practice.

Frequently asked questions.

What if I can't attend a live call?

Live participation is encouraged because the calls are where we bring the work into what is happening in your actual life. Calls will be recorded so you can catch up if you occasionally cannot attend.

Is Capacity Lab therapy?

No. Capacity Lab is a coaching and human-development programme. It does not replace psychological, psychiatric, medical or therapeutic care.

Is this only for parents of young children?

No. The patterns that drive us can appear at every stage of parenting, from early childhood through adolescence and into relationships with adult children.

What if my partner isn't doing the programme?

You do not need your partner to participate for your own patterns, capacity and responses to change. When one person begins relating differently, it changes the dynamics around them.

Is Capacity Lab suitable if my child has ADHD, autism or additional needs?

The programme is not designed to diagnose or treat your child. It focuses on developing your awareness, capacity and ability to respond to the reality of your parenting experience. It can sit powerfully alongside appropriate professional and specialist support for your child and family.

How much time will I need each week?

Plan for approximately two hours each week: 10 to 15 minutes of focused teaching, an experiential practice, and one 90-minute live coaching and application call.

Much of the application happens within your everyday parenting and relationships rather than as additional homework. You will also have opportunities to engage with the community and go deeper between calls, but how much additional time you spend is up to you.

What happens over Christmas?

The programme continues through the Christmas period because family dynamics, additional pressure and disrupted routines make Christmas part of the work. We will take a break between Christmas and New Year.

Do I need to have read the book?

No. You do not need to have read F*ck Up Your Kids with Grace & Humour before joining Capacity Lab, although it is recommended.

Is one-to-one support included?

One-to-one coaching is not included in the standard Capacity Lab programme. Private support may be available as a separate upgrade.

What happens if I miss a week?

The programme is designed to work within real family life. You will be able to access the weekly training and call recording and return to the work without needing to be perfect.

Is this a parenting programme or a personal-development programme?

It is both. Parenting is the context, but the work focuses on the person doing the parenting. Capacity Lab helps you understand what is driving you and develop greater capacity in your parenting, relationships and life.

If you already know more than you can consistently access when parenting gets hard, Capacity Lab is where we create the capacity to live it.
